Sheesh, I thought my town was weird. Although I do like that lingerie you chose…

Good post Dustin, and an interesting new direction for the blog.

  2. Oh, Dustin. “I’d be out of this store faster than a fat kid in dodge ball.” You know that this is the kind of thing I enjoy.

  3. That was great, Dustin!!! Thanks for the laugh!

  4. meh, I’m not a fan of this post. I ended up skipping from the soda photo on. Not everyone shopping at WalMart had their head screwed on tight but I don’t think we need to mock people for being nutty.

    • I totally understand, Lindsay. This type of post will be an occasional “treat” for some and “bad medicine” for others, but it will be occasional either way. ;)

That is true love, Dustin! I avoid WalMart at all costs (and yes, sometimes that actually means paying more at Target).

    Loved the post!

  6. Weird experience, huh? Thanks for being brave. I’m sure your wife really appreciates your courage:-)

    • Yes, Patrenia, my wife was really impressed with my bravery and honor. In case you didn’t know, my full name is actually Dustin “Courage” Riechmann.

  7. My husband and I both got a nice laugh or two from this.

  8. hilarious! this is my first time reading your blog but if you promise to throw in another post like this one I promise to actually read them when they show up in my RSS feed ;) Seriously, very funny and much like my own recent trip to Wal-Mart… alas I ran home empty handed and took my chances at Target instead.

Looking forward to reading the marriage stuff too.

    • Esther, if this is what it takes to make you a loyal reader, you got it. No more substantive insight or advice…only satirical rants about my shopping experiences. Next up: the grocery store! ;)

  9. Dustin-
On a date with my husband while we were trying to find a parking spot in Philadelphia tonight, I read him this post. We both laughed out loud. We love you guys!
My prayers are with you as your family attempts to weather the frightening and potentially crippling “storm.”

    Love your blog in general!!

This gave me a great laugh as I approach a busy day!

I still want one of those t-shirts. :)

    • You have too many jobs, Stu. You’d need like 5 shirts: voiceover guy by day, ninja by night; exquisite marriage guru by day, ninja by night; radio man by day, ninja by night; etc. One for every day of the week would be sweet!

  13. Oh, my husband and I HATE Wall mart. We never go there and I could never ever get my husband to go in one.

I liked this post but I really love everything you blog about!

  14. This is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. Great post.

  15. Dustin,

I loved this post! My hubby and I avoid Wal-Mart like the plague, I know just what you mean. Thanks for the laugh.

    • Thanks, Shannon! I have literally been back in there once since I wrote this post. The true story of what I witnessed is probably worthy of a follow-up post…

  16. Laughing so hard there are tears in my eyes. Great post- thanks for the laugh !

  17. Not gonna lie Dustin, I really enjoy your posts, but did NOT enjoy this one, I stopped reading after you started talking about how you rarely go for groceries, etc. I don’t know, I enjoy self depreciating humor as much as anyone else but you came off as a bit of a moron. I was glad to read that these sorts of posts won’t be very common.
