  1. Time is holding me back my friend. My wife and I have a strong relationship but as you know it could always be better. We find that time messes up our plans to do this or that. we will have something planned out, get excited about it, only to realize there is no more time in the day once we take care of the kids and other responsibilities. I’m sure we’re not alone! :)

  2. Thanks to everyone so far for your great responses! Some matched my preconceptions and some have been very eye-opening. Keep em coming! :)

P.S. – I recently updated the About Page…(from your post above)

Sorry, I couldn’t get to this page, it stated “Page Not Found.”

  4. Oops, sorry Laurie! I fixed the About Page link now, and I’d appreciate everyone’s input. Thanks for the continued pouring in of fantastic responses to the poll!

  5. Yeah, Time for me too :) Where can we buy more of it?

    • I can’t sell you time directly, J. But I am working on some things that will help you find a bit more of it and especially use it more effectively to get the most from your marriage and family life. :)

  6. I would definitely say time as well. Even if you work a standard 40 hour work week, you are still spending the majority of your quality awake time away from your spouse. I could quit my job and spend all of my time with my wife, but then we would be in the poor house! Something has got to give…

    • Exactly my thoughts as well, DJ. When you take that standard career, add in kids, a successful blog ;) , a spiritual life, community service and maybe a little bit of recreation, the struggle to find the time for having a great marriage really becomes a challenge.

  7. :D Well it would seem it is a consensus. I also have the most difficulty with time, yet I have the same 24 hours that everyone has. What helps for me is to do it in the order that is my priority: spiritual life, marriage, seven children, work, blog/website ministry, playtime, chores :P

Dustin regarding your “About” page, I’ll just say this: It’s Good!! I like it because it really helps explain why this blog is here and what you’re trying to do…and it does tell us a little about you. I will also say that it has inspired me to re-examine my own “About” page as I think it’s a little old and could use some sprucing up. So good job :D

  8. That was a hard poll for me to answer…

Your about page looks great. You are a great writer Dustin. And I think you and your wife are just freaking adorable!

You inspired me to think about re-writing my “about” page. I don’t think I’ve updated it in a LONG time!!!

  9. great poll, nice writing in the blog post

  10. Time for sure!

I also enjoyed the updated “about” page. Didn’t realize until I read it there that we are both engineering types with a passion for great marriages. And here I thought I was one-of-a-kind in that regard!

    • Thanks, Scott. That’s a funny coincidence that you are also an engineer. It’s not exactly the environment where you’d expect an engineer to thrive (left brain vs. right brain), but that’s one of the reasons I enjoy writing here so much. Keep up the great work!
